Abstract:
The study aimed to develop a suggested concept to treat the deficiencies in learning
the skills of reading comprehension (literal - deductive - critical - taste - creative) for reading
lessons for fourth grade primary school students in Marj city. To achieve the aims of the
study,
the study followed the descriptive and qualitative methodology. The study sample consisted
of 100 students and 5 Arabic language teachers for the fourth grade of primary school. The
study used the achievement diagnostic test to diagnose deficiencies in learning to read
comprehension, and the interview was applied to the teachers sample. The study found that
there are deficiencies in reading comprehension skills - based on the results of the diagnostic
achievement test, and according to the viewpoint of Arabic language teachers for the fourth
grade of primary - including a deficiency in extracting the counter word, identifying the
places mentioned in the literary text, mentioning the characters mentioned in the literary text,
deducing the characteristics of the characters mentioned in the read article, the link between cause and effect, the arrangement of ideas, the realization of the dominant relationship in the
text, the distinction between ideas belonging to and not belonging to the text, expressing an
opinion on the behavior of a personality mentioned in the text, proposing new solutions to
problems mentioned in the text, and predicting events based on introductions. In light of the
results, a suggested concept was developed to treat deficiency in reading comprehension
skills using the literature circles method. In light of the results, the study presented a set of
related recommendations.
