Abstract:
The study aims to explore characteristics of Libyan consumer committed to social distancing as a preventive measure since the outbreak of the Coronavirus. Also, this study aims to investigate the impact of social distancing, customer retention. And whether there are differences customers' opinion on the social distancing and customer retention variables is related to age, education and income. The study community consists of all the retail customers in Libya, the survey used a questionnaire, which analyzed by a statistical program (SPSS), the sample responses were 186 of the total sample. The results have shown, customers in Libyan shops have found since the outbreak of the new Coronavirus committed to maintaining the rules of social distancing as a basic measure of preventing the virus. A significant effect between social distancing and customer retention. There is also a significant difference between the opinion of customers on social distancing that is related to the level of education, also there is no difference between the customer's opinions on the retention variable for the customer is related to the demographic variables age, educational level and income. This study suggests avenues for further scholarly research and policymaking related to the impact this behavior may be having around the world on society’s more vulnerable group, particularly gander, consumer satisfaction and future researchers to study the relationship between the variables.
