Abstract:
The poetic image has attracted great interest among students of Arabic poetry. It is the poet’s
tool that governs his artistic personality in expression, and it is also an artistic measure for the
creator who produced it, and in the light of the modernization of Arabic poetry, the poem has
undergone a radical transformation at the level of artistic construction. Change the poet’s path
towards the freedom of absolute creativity and commitment to love, developed relationships
between the elements of poetic discourse production. The graphic style was one of the most
prominent of these actors that affected poetry semantically and aesthetically, after the poetic
image turned from direct declarative expression into a suggestive expression that believed in
subjectivity and abstraction, which prompts the search for its deep significance, and the poet
(Ahmed Matar) was not a heresy from all of that. In this research, he sheds light on the
features of modernity in his poetry and their effect on the image.
