Abstract

the paper included a set of main points regarding the services provided by social institutions for people with special needs from the mentally retarded, and it took an intellectual sequence in listing its basic elements and determinants, starting from the definition of concepts in general, and their most important goals and importance as well as the causes of menyal disability and social implications. The Consequences of the presence of a mentally handicapped child in the family, in addition to reviewing the role of the family with severely handicapped children , the family's role with the disabled and its integration into society , and highlighting of the services provided by social institutions for people with special needs .
