The study aims to discover the educational values which are included in children's stories (a
collection of stories by the AL-Sadeq Al-Nayhoum from first edition in 2002 and published
by Dar AL-Intishar Al-Arabi - Beirut Lebanon. Sentence analysis is used in this study.
Samples consists of seven stories which are: Sailboats of EL-Sultan, The Goodhearted Salt
Seller, Best Thief in the Kingdom, Magic White Eagle, The Bone and Poor, Sin of Juha, and
Children's Food. Findings reveals that the seven stories included 159 repetition of values and
these values are ranged from one story into another. The highest value was at cognitivetheoretical value , it was 43 with the percentage of 27%. Followed by "moral-religious"
values, which was 30, with a percentage of 18.8%. The third value was social-human, which
was 24, and with the percentage of 15.1%. Finally, the “health-preventive and professionaleconomic” values were 18, with a percentage of 11.3%; and the lowest values in the stories
were “aesthetic-recreational” which was 4 and with a percentage of 2.51%. It has been
noticed that the story (Sailboats of Sultan) was full of values: where it contained 42 repetitive
values, followed by Childern's Food story. Where it had 32 repetitive values. The third story
was Salt Seller , where it had many repetitions of values. The lowest values were found in the story of The Bone and the Poor. Generally, values which are included in the above mentioned
stories were few regarding childhood stage. They were not directly approached; and
addressing the bad values in the stories. The study reached to a number of recommendations,
which belong to the results |
