dc.description.abstract This study aimed to study the extent of applying principles of governance in the Libyan commercial banks operating in Benghazi, the population of this study consists of all occupants of leading positions in the branches of public commercial banks operating in Benghazi, and are represented in the branch managers and their assistants and heads of departments in Al-Wahda bank, Al-Jumhoria bank, National Commercial bank and the Sahara Bank. The questionnaire was used as an essential tool for data collection, and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there is an application of governance principles in Libyan commercial banks. This study also recommended that it is necessity to benefit from the application of Libyan public commercial banks to the principles of governance in raising the performance of these banks en_US
