Abstract:
the population mass in the city of Al-Badya has provided all means of population growth
from high birth rates and low death rates, which led to high rates of natural increase, in
addition to the abnormal increase that contributed to about 56.7% of the total population
increase ,and this is an evidence of the city receiving large numbers of immigrants arriving in
it during census periods, which exceeded the natural increase in the population growth andwith the increase in the population in the city ,increased passenger traffic , which required
more advanced means of transportation to contribute in the urban transport of passengers
within it and the most important of them was minibuses with capacities ranging from 11-16
passerigers, in addition to taxis and private cars, this increase also requires strengthening the
street's network, improving it and diversifying it to accommodate the volume of traffic on it.
This rapid urban growth of the city has created a situation in which the inner structure of the
city has become unable to make it happen, and transportation and road requirements have
reached a critical stage as a result. The deficit in transportation requirements has represented
in many problems, the most important of which were crowd and traffic accidents .
The city of Al-Bayda is divided in to four main neighborhoods that are not equal in area and
services importance and these neighborhoods, were represented in the old market
neighborhoods ,,Al-Ghariga, the eastern Al-Bayda ,and the western Al- Bayda
neighborhoods, in addition to that there is a strong correlation in the city between the
population density and the transportation network as the length the streets network increase
and the number of passenger transport vehicles in the city with increasing population density
so that the streets network absorbs transportation vehicles this increase as well as the
presence of high population densities are ready for using the puplic transportation.
