This study discussed the environmental change of the pool of the water pool of Umm AlMakhali in the Al-Ghurayq Basin east of Marj city, which has become continuously
increasing due to the increase in the amount of wastewater discharged to it, which caused
many environmental problems to the lands adjacent to it. This study aimed to know the nature
of the change in the area The total and the change in the area of the natural vegetation cover
in the catchment, as it aimed to know the extent of the difference in the rates of soil
infiltration, and this study was adopted on the field side, in addition to using remote sensing
techniques, to track the change by satellite images, and among the most important net The
findings of this study increased the area that is submerged very significantly to cover an area
of (689) hectares in 2019, with a rate of change of (96.8), from 1985, the rate of change in the
natural plant reached between 1989 and 2019, in the pool of Umm Al-Makhali in the AlGhurayq (119.4%), the difference in soil leaching rates where the leaching rate reached 1.125
cm / hour, in point No. 1, and 3 cm / hour, in point No. 2, and 1.75 cm / hour, in point No. 3,
Then the study concluded a number of recommendations that may be finding some solutions
to the problem of the increase in the catchment area. |
