Abstract:
This study examines the phenomenon of linguistic dualism between classical Arabic and
colloquial language in theatrical writing by one of the pillars of theatrical writing in Libya,
the author and director, Ali Mohammad Nasser. The study aimed to examine the reasons for
the existence of the phenomenon by reviewing the views of its supporters and dissidents in
our Arab theatre, tracing its origins since its inception in Yaakoub Sanou and subsequent
playwrights and critics. And then moving on to an applied study of the works of the
playwright Ali Nasser Where the study concluded a set of reasons that were the reason for
choosing behind the author's choice of each language, separately, in his theatrical writings,
indicating the validity of the language in which the texts were written for their subjects.
