The study aimed to prepare a training program based on relaxation techniques and to identify
the effectiveness of the program in reducing the level of post-traumatic stress among
displaced children.
Experimental method for one group by using both pre- and post-performances.
Study population consisted of all children in headquarters of the displaced, which is
represented by the schools for the displaced in Benghazi, and according to the statistics of the
Union of Public Benghazi Associations, which is a civil society organization that includes
union of six assemblage and that are registered in the Civil Society Commission.
The study sample was randomly selected, and its members whose grades 86 and above were
selected according to the scale of symptoms of psychological trauma for children. It included
(30) children, numbered (15) boys, and (15) girls, and their ages ranged between (8-11) years.
And use the Children For List Check Symptoms Trauma, a global standard designed to
measure psychological trauma in children.
Results indicated presence of a positive effect of the program through the presence of
statistically significant differences in the pre and post measurement among members of the
experimental group.
There were also differences between the mean of both males and females scores in the
experimental group on the total score for the scale of symptoms of psychological trauma for
children, and the results indicated that the mean of the female scores was 4.556 higher than
the mean of the male scores which was 2.066 |
